Summer D&D Campaign + Dungeon Master Training Class: Ancient Myths and Adventures
Meets: Wednesdays from 3:30-5 pm Pacific (6:30-8 pm Eastern), June 10 through August 12
Achilles and Ajax Playing a Board Game (540-530 BCE by Exekias)
We invite students to join a world where ancient history and myth come alive through the power of Dungeons & Dragons. In this weekly, one-hour 5th Edition D&D campaign, students will journey through lands inspired by Greece, Rome, and the wider ancient Mediterranean—encountering gods, heroes, monsters, and mysteries straight out of classical mythology.
We’ll play on a virtual tabletop with Zoom for voice, and the adventure will seamlessly weave Latin and Greek into puzzles, clues, artifacts, and character encounters. (No prior knowledge of either language is required—just curiosity and a sense of adventure!)
At the end of each meeting, Dan will lead a 15-minute mentorship session, helping students grow as players and budding Dungeon Masters. He’ll guide them in designing their own worlds, solving DM challenges, creating compelling stories, and running successful games of their own.
This campaign will be a continuation of the campaign started in the spring class, and returning and new students are welcome. Please note that we have increased the meeting time from one to 1.5 hours, giving students more time to engage with the material.
Space is limited to six students to preserve a collaborative, high-engagement experience where every player has a meaningful role in the unfolding epic.
