Summer, 2026 - Introduction to Ancient Philosophy - 10 week course

Explore the wisdom of ancient Greece, Rome, China, and India in this 10 week online course. This class will include topics such as free will, happiness, love, knowledge, justice, politics, religion, the soul, and the nature of the cosmos. Students will learn how philosophers began to rationally discuss these topics in the midst of great cultural and historical change, with the selection of readings will be personalized to student interests. Taught by our philosophy teacher, Professor Andrew Alwood. Please complete the registration form below. In order to reserve a space in class, payment must be received. Course Details:
- Duration: 10 weeks
- Meeting times: Thursdays from 4-5 pm Pacific (7-8 pm Eastern), June 4 through August 6.
- Frequency: Once a week (1-hour sessions)
- Ages: 10 and up
- Teacher: Dr. Andrew Alwood
- Enrollment: Open to students ages 10+. No previous knowledge needed - just an inquisitive spirit. 
- Cost: $350 per student for the full course (10 one-hour classes). We offer a discounted asynchronous option for those interested.
- Location: Zoom - Classes will be recorded in the case of student absences. 
- Registration: Please complete the form below. As space is limited, full payment of $350 for class must be received in order to complete registration (payment details below). If your child decides not to continue with class after the first meeting, we will refund the price of class (minus the first class $35). After this, the class payment is non-refundable. Payments or POs must be completed to secure a space in class.
